Kylie Minogue Joins BBC's 'The Voice UK' as Coach


The Hollywood Reporter previously reported how the Australian pop star was planning to find the spot but had yet to sign. Minogue will work with will.i.am and Tom Jones, whose returns for season three from the singing talent show the U.K. public broadcaster also confirmed on Wednesday.

"Grammy award-winner Kylie has received worldwide record sales of greater than 68 million and was given an investment on the British Empire for services to music," the BBC said. "With 10 world tours, 11 successful albums and also over 50 hit singles internationally, Kylie is able make use of her expertise to find and nurture new and exciting vocal talent."

Said Minogue: "I'm very excited to turn into a coach about the Voice UK. I love the thought of the show and have been an enthusiastic viewer of both series. Determining new talent is definately a significant area of the background music industry, plus the Voice UK provides for us all an element to experience in that. Must i remain competitive? Mark Linsey, controller of entertainment commissioning for the BBC, said: “Kylie is usually a hugely respected figure from the an entire world of music and will also be an incredible addition for the Voice UK. The girl with a genuine pop icon, and her longevity on the market is evidence of her creative and musical ability.”

The show in its first season beat Simon Cowell's Britain's Got Talent weeks uninterruptedly but lost momentum rolling around in its second season, producing demands new coaches and format tweaks.
